Incorporating Goodyear's SmartTRED Weather reactive Technology, the Vector 5 has the ability to adapt to changes in both driving and seasonal conditions. As such, the tyre is marketed as a cost-effective all-season tyre.

The tyre features a special all-season silica tread compound, which adapts to varying conditions and combines with SmarTRED Weather reactive Technology to provide all-year round performance and increased mileage.

The tyre also features 3D_BIS technology, which allows for increased blade density while maintaining block stiffness. This provides increased grip in snow and ice as well as controlled wet and dry steering stability.

A V-TRED Technology profile is also used to assure the rapid dispersal of water and slush and to provide increased resistance to aquaplaning.
