The Eagle NCT 5 is marketed by Goodyear as an environmentally friendly high performance tyre, which has been developed to make optimum use of energy and resources. It incorporates a newly developed silica compound which is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% versus its predecessor as well as increasinhg wet adhesion.

Tyre weight has also been reduced theerby reducing the amount of material required in the production process.

Meanwhile, optimised shoulder-to-centreline stiffness balances tyre stress and load distribution for improved handling, improved mileage and minimised noise levels. The tyre's radial shoulder blading improves grip and lateral stability by providing additional biting edges, whilst the four longitudinal grooves provide resistance to aquaplaning.

The Eagle NCT5 also features an optimised shift/4 pitch sequence for reduced noise and solid centre ribs for straight line stability and improved dry handling.
