Goodyear now offer a standard tyre featuring Goodyear's BioTRED technology, which is designed to have a lower impact on the environment as well as better safety standards. The GT3 utilizes BioTRED technology, which replaces oil derivatives and silica in the tread compound with a new ingredient derived from corn starch. Drivers using the GT3 benefit from an improvement in rolling resistance, that can mean fuel savings of approximately 5% in combination with increased wet adhesion.

Goodyear's 3D-BIS technology in the centre blocks of the GT3 manages to increase blade density, this is whilst at the same time maintaining block stiffness for better grip and steering stability. Other advantages of the GT3 include superior wet traction and braking.

This product from Goodyear also has the characteristic of circumferential grooves that aid water clearance. The shoulder block tie-bars for handling and uniform wear with narrow radial grooves and an optimised pitch sequence manage to decrease noise pollution.
