ContiWinterContact TS810
|
Here, Continental have delivered another cold weather/winter
tyre for the medium-size and high-end categories. The
ContiWinterContact TS810 was created in order to deliver
superb winter conditios handling, great mileage, excellent
comfort, as well as decent braking and wet-weather performance.
The highly structured nature of the tyre tread means
that there are a high number of biting edges to guarantee
maximum traction in wet, icy and snowy winter weather.
Also, the thicker sipes in combination with the sipe
spacers located on the inside of the product keeps the
sipes open whilst they pass along the ground contact
area. This allows the sipes to fill up with more snow
and significantly increases the amount of extra grip
on road surfaces in winter conditions. All this ensures
that Continental have designed a particularly well-balanced
winter tyre for the premium segment of the tyre market.

This new ContiWinterContact TS 810 is characterised by it's
enhanced edge characteristics on the middle and inside of
the tyre that aids grip and traction in the snow.
Moving on, the sipes of the asymmetrical tread pattern design
are up to 20% thicker on the inside of the ContiWinterContact
TS 810. This all means that these sipes take a lot more snow
and therefore increase traction due to the increased amount
of snow-snow friction.
Continental's innovative sipe spacers help the prevention
of the sipes from closing during the time they are in contact
with the surface, making it possible to improve the amount
of snow taken on by the sipes by roughly 20%. This has resulted
in a significant improvement in snow traction and the cornering
stability of the product.
Due to a new type of wet polymer that has been utilized by
Continental, the ContiWinterContact TS 810 delivers a better
performance in the wet without comprimising how it performs
in the snow. The ultra-active carbon black included in the
tyre compound has a noticeable improvement in it's stability.
The reactive plasticizers of the tyre compound could have
the impact of improving the tyre life and long-term flexibility
of the tread.
