The honeycombed sipe arrangement refers to the optimized
arrangement of the sipe grid to give high safety on
wintry roads. Longitudinal sipes in the various tread
blocks provide for directional control, these being
crossed by lateral sipes for best traction.

The honeycomb sipe system generates more gripping edges than
conventional sipes when lateral forces in curves occur and
thus leads to a better cornering stability.
Meanwhile, flexible tread blocks in the centre section allow
an optimized adaption to icy and snowy surfaces. In combination
with the lateral sipes an excellent traction on snow and ice
can be realised.
The directional v-shaped tread pattern with two circumferential
grooves offers fast water drainage and leads to a reduction
in aquaplaning risks.
