The ContiSportContact2 is an ultra-high performance
tyre that is targeted at the top-end of the market.
The motorist has crucial benefits like precise, responsive
steering and agood standard of cornering stability,
as well as exceptional braking power, resistance to
aquaplaning, which therefore means the product has very
good grip levels in wet driving conditions.
This specific product from Continental benefits from
an asymmetrical pattern resulting in optimum ground
adhesion. This particular advantage is guaranteed by
the closed outer shoulder section and the pronounced
strips of tread rubber along the tyre's circumference.
The design of tread pattern also benefits the tyre by
the fact that it delivers extremely precise effective
steering responses when driving at the limit on bends
and straights.

Moreover, the strip of circumferential tread is significantly
stiffer than the individual blocks of tread. Therefore the
tyre engineers of the ContiSportContact2 were able to utilize
a softer tread compound during the design and manufacturing
stage of the product. Through the combination of the solid
tread strips with the soft compound, the mileage performance
of the product was able to be raised to a significantly higher
level.
Continental's ContiSportContact 2 has a newly developed
"bionic" silica -based compound. The tread compound
currently consists of two perfectly harmonised networks including
a flexible one and a firm one. The flexible nature of this
particular network guarantees the maximum level of transmission
of forces between the tyre and road surface. Meanwhile, the
firm network offers the necessary stiffness for more precise
handling performance, at the highest of speeds.
Due to the bionic contour (Advanced Mould Concept), the tyre
attains higher amounts of uniform ground-pressure distribution
and therefore greater adhesion than its predecessor in the
product line. Simultaneously, this special contour guarantees
the biggest possible ground contact area whilst the car is
attempting to brake. This advantage means braking distances
are decreased on wet and dry roads, resulting in a safer ride
for the motorist and his or her passengers.
Size Range:
V, W, Y and Z rated tyres in 60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30 and
25 series fitments.
