Potenza S001

Bridgestone have created the Potenza S001 as their
most recent flagship ultra-high performance tyre, ensuring
maximum sports performance and combining Formula 1™
precision with superb amounts of traction and manoeuverability
including comfort and safety. The Potenza S001 tyre
allows the delivery of high efficiency with reduced
rolling resistance.
This particular tyre from Bridgestone features an advanced
asymmetric tread pattern for excellent sports performance
in wet and dry weather combining super slant grooves
for efficient dispersal of water and high traction stability
on wet and slippery road surfaces.

The asymmetric tyre is characterised on the outside tread
area by a massive, stiff 'high grip' shoulder block that ensure
optimum levels of road contact. The strong, lightweight active
insert in the bead area manages to enhance the handling performance
for the driver. This has the impact of increasing longitudinal
stiffness by helping to generate the high braking force required,
while managing to maintain vertical stiffness for cornering
grip and ride comfort.
Thanks to the premium wet technology from Bridgestone, wet
safety is assured. The wide groove design of the product manages
to aid efficient water evacuation, helped by high-angle lug
grooves to improve the drainage of excess water from the rib
area into the main grooves for more resistance to hydroplaning.
The angle of these lug grooves is tuned in order to minimise
block deformation during braking. Bridgestone says it has
managed to develop the most effective braking edge and contact
patch for optimum wet safety and control.
In addition, the Potenza S001 also manages to meet the strong
trend towards fuel efficiency due to the lighter belt construction
than the Potenza generations previously and the decreased
rolling resistance. The noise of the pattern is diminished
by the even road contact that is provided by the new block
design. This helps to decrease noise emissions fromroad contact
and combines with the latest groove and lug technology to
suppress surface noise. All of these measures help ensure
that noise levels are kept at a minimum.
