Bridgestone

Bridgestone can currently claim a position as the world's largest tyre manufacturer. Although the company can not claim market leadership in the UK for its main premium brand, the Bridgestone brand is a leader in many other parts of the world, including the parent company's homeland, Japan.

In Europe the Bridgestone brand has increased its profile significantly in recent years thanks to the company's involvement in motorsport and particularly in Formula One.

In addition to the Bridgestone brand, which is marketed as the company's main premium line, Bridgestone also owns the Firestone range, which now tends to be positioned as a mid-range brand.

Bridgestone splits its summer tyre range into three distinct groups - Potenza (for high performance cars), Turanza (for top-end touring cars abd the B-Series (for compacts, hatchbacks and smaller saloon cars). In addition, the company markets a range of winter tyres under the Blizzak name.
