Tyre Price Advisor Introduces Shopping Basket Research on
Online Tyre Prices
Consumers looking to compare tyres and buy
car tyres over the internet now have a further tool to help
them make the right purchase decision.
Tyre Price Advisor, the UKs new tyre price
and service comparison website, has introduced a new "shopping
basket" research service allowing readers to see which tyre
dealers are offering the best deals in cheap tyres in the
most popular segments of the market.
The research, the results of which will be
posted on www.tyrepriceadvisor.co.uk, will be carried out
regularly and will cover a "shopping basket" consisting
of 20 fast moving car tyre sizes and brands.
The first price check, carried out on Monday
July 19 covered four of the fastest moving tyre sizes -
205/55 R 16, 225/45 R 17, 195/65 R 15 and 225/40 R 18. Five
randomly chosen car tyre models were chosen for each tyre
size - the cheapest budget tyre, a mid-range tyre (typically
Avon, Falken, Kumho, Toyo etc.) and three popular premium
tyre models (chosen from Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop,
Goodyear, Michelin and Pirelli).
Online tyre prices for these tyres were then
compared using prices from twelve of the most prominent
online tyre retailers, namely; ATS Euromaster, Best Buy
Tyres, Blackcircles, C Tyres, Etyres, Kwik-Fit, Mytyres,
National Tyres, Tyrexpress, Tyre-Shopper, Tyretraders and
Value Tyres.
Based on the individual retailers' published
online price, the survey revealed Blackcircles to be cheapest
on 7 of the 20 tyres, Tyre-Shopper on 5, Tyretraders on
4 and Best Buy Tyres, Mytyres, Tyrexpress and Value Tyres
on one each.
When the discounts offered by Tyre Price Advisor
partners was added the results looked a little different,
Value Tyres being cheapest on 8 sizes, Tyre-Shopper on 4,
Blackcircles and Tyretraders on 3 each and Best Buy Tyres
and Mytyres on one each.
David Wilson, the publisher of www.tyrepriceadvisor.co.uk,
commented: "The retail tyre prices offered by online retailers
are constantly changing, so it's always worth checking out
and comparing the very latest prices before making a purchase.
What our latest "shopping basket" survey confirms is that
online prices in the tyre market are led by a relatively
small number of online retailers, the majority of whom are
already partnering Tyre Price Advisor".
Tyre Price Advisor was launched earlier this
year and is a sister website of Tyres-Online.
