Dunlop Launch New Taxi Tyre
Dunlop
have launched the brand new Dunlop SP Taxi Tyre, designed
and engineered specifically for taxis. Public carriage office
approved, the new tyre consists of the latest jointless band
casing construction, which results in high stability, low
steering effort for the driver and high passenger comfort.
The Dunlop SP Taxi Tyre also has purpose-designed,
state-of-the-art tread pattern technology, which has been
designed to assure improved wet grip and durability. The sidewall
construction incorporates the widest and thickest ever protector
band to provide resistance to kerbing damage. Dunlop tyres
are now original equipment on LTI and Metrocab taxis.
New Catalogue from Kayaba
Kayaba
continues the drive to develop its UK aftermarket business
with the launch of its new shock absorber catalogue for 2003.
The catalogue contains full details of KYB shock absorbers
and associated products (mounting kits and protection kits).
The company is also taking the opportunity to
rationalise one of its existing product ranges by re-branding
what was called "Super" with a new global name - Excel-G.
Excel-G is the standard OE replacement for cars originally
fitted with gas charged shock absorbers, while also offering
an economical upgrade for many other makes and models. Customers
benefits include improved handling and performance, as well
as the prevention of performance fade to give better vehicle
control, road holding, comfort and safety.
Colway's Winning Taxi Formula
Available in the traditional 'black cab' 175R16
size, and a new low profile 175/75R16 size suitable for 'Metro'
cabs, the two latest Colway branded retreads from C-Tyres
Ltd are produced utilising the company's 'Formula' advanced
manufacturing techniques and materials. C-Tyres claim the
two newcomers give the cab driver 'a combination of high mileage
and low initial outlay that will reduce vehicle operating
costs.'
The new Colway Taxi tyres, in the well-proven
CCA pattern, are available for outright sale or on a COC (Customer's
Own Casings) basis. A bonus for tyre distributors is that
C-Tyres is able to accept all premium brands of 175/75R16,
185/75R16 and 175R16 casings as part of this exchange arrangement.
Colway Formula specification tyres are produced
using premium quality original equipment casings and undergo
strict quality checks to ensure structural integrity before
the retreading process takes place. A specially designed 'Formula'
compound is used in the manufacturing, whilst the casings
are treated with a green coloured inner sealant which aids
air retention.
Quinton Hazell Launches New Brake
CD
Quinton
Hazell has taken its range of braking products into new media
with the launch of a CD. 'QH10' contains details of almost
every braking function on a modern production vehicle - from
discs, drums, pads, shoes and fitting kits. Featuring all
dry brake components available from the QH range including
recent range extensions, the CD-ROM covers over 95% of the
European vehicle parc. Talking about Quinton Hazell's recent
investments in expanding its product range, Simon Bradley,
Product Manager commented: "We are showing increased demand
for braking products in particular pads and discs where the
market is rapidly growing. With more and more vehicles being
fitted with pads all round, product ranges and sales in this
area are consistently increasing year on year. This is reflected
by the recent extensive range introduction of over 500 new
references in the QH10 CD-Rom database."
