CCS Launches Koni FSD Shock
Absorber
CCS,
one of the UK's leading parts distribution companies, is launching
Koni's new FSD shock absorber into the independent aftermarket.
Koni claims its new FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock
absorber is the first shock absorber to provide superior road
handling, without compromising ride comfort. Before, drivers
had to choose between a hard suspension offering good handling
with poor comfort or, a soft suspension offering comfort over
road handling.
The attractiveness of Koni FSD is claimed to
be in its simplicity, being that there are no electronics
or sensors used, only hydraulics. FSD actively controls the
damping level on the basis of the movement frequency of both
the car's body as well as the suspension, reacting even more
responsively than electronic systems. In standard shock absorbers,
the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow
going through the piston assembly.
The additional feature of Koni FSD is a hydraulic
amplifier that delays the build-up of pressure, in order to
get the best possible combination of handling and comfort.
The result is a smart suspension system that adjusts automatically
to road conditions as well as driving style.
John Elkin, CCS General Manager believes the
product's simplicity will prove a real benefit to motor factors
and installers: "Koni has researched the market thoroughly
and understand the increasing time pressures facing end users
and distributors. To this end, they have arrived at the perfect
solution: A shock absorber that offers both superior road
handling and optimum comfort, with the added benefit of their
being no electronics or sensors."
CCS specialises in suspension, steering, transmission,
engine, auto electrics and braking and, in recent years, has
gained particular experience with performance related suspension
and braking products. It offers a performance parts portfolio
of leading quality brands including: Koni and KYB shock absorbers,
National high performance brake discs and, Ferodo DS Performance
Disc Pads.
Continental Launch VancoContact
2
The VancoContact 2 is Continental's new tyre
for light van and multi-purpose vehicle use. Featuring solid
shoulders and specially constructed central ribbed tread,
the tyre offers cornering stability and extremely precise
steering due to its 'car-like' tread pattern. Optimised sipes
and wide circumferential grooves on the VancoContact2 ensure
fast water displacement and excellence in wet weather conditions.
The tyres rigid centre area maintains even ground pressure
distribution, which translates to high mileage and accurate
handling benefits for the driver. The VancoContact 2 is available
now in ten 13, 15 and 16 inch sizes.
